A free app for locating a lost or stolen bicycle has been provided by Bike Index, a national bicycle registry. To register, you will need your bike’s serial number. There are also options to describe your bike’s features, accessories and add a photo.
Given the ongoing prevalence of stolen bicycles, you may find this worthwhile. Of course, prevention is best: a secure, theft-deterrent U-Lock lock or heavy cable. But should those fail, having your bike registered will help get it returned.
